I am a student Craniosacral Therapist currently training through the Upledger UK, starting with the core program. I’ve completed all the prerequisite classes—and then some—to work toward my qualification. All that’s left are a dozen essays (I’m on it!) and a practical exam.
My background is in photography, where I found joy in capturing moments, especially those involving people. But how did I end up on this path toward Craniosacral Therapy?
At 26, while caring for my 10-month-old daughter, I suffered a stroke. This life-altering event left me with permanent quadrantanopia (vision loss) and chronic migraines, not to mention the stress and anxiety that come with such challenges. A wonderful friend and chiropractor suggested I try a Craniosacral session, a decision for which I am immensely grateful. Over time, she relieved the unbearable pressure in my head and helped restore me to a version of myself that I thought was lost. More importantly, she set me on the journey I’m on today.
Experiencing the profound effects of Craniosacral Therapy on my body and mind after such a traumatic time planted a seed that took several years to take root. Six years later, with the unwavering support of my husband and family, I felt ready to pursue this path.
I began my training in April 2018 with The College of Body Science’s Human Anatomy and Physiology Foundation Certificate. Now, after completing seven courses and five levels of training, I am continually amazed by this work.
Each client who walks through my door teaches me something new—about their bodies, their minds, their experiences, and their responses. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from each and every one of them.
