CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, light touch, hands-on therapy that offers the body a chance to unwind whilst relieving pain and dysfunction.
The accumulation of day to day stresses, loss, grief, physical injury and or trauma can become overwhelming for our mind and body. Unknowingly to many of us our membranes store these feelings and strains in way of restrictions. When we are in this blocked state our bodies ability to self heal or correct is lessened and we don’t mend as well as we usually would.
How we each deal with what life throws at us is entirely different but any stress can compromise the fluidity and functioning of our CranioSacral System.
The brain and spinal cord make up the central nervous system (CNS) which holds the upmost influence over our bodies functionality. The CNS is heavily influenced by our CranioSacral system - the bones, membranes and fluid that surround, protect and nourish the spinal cord.
All parts of the body are connected directly and indirectly by a web of connective tissue called fascia. The fascia is very much a part of the CranioSacral system, meaning that an injury in one area can cause restriction and pain in an another.
Through soft-touch, gentle, specific techniques, working with the whole body but specifically the bones of the head and spinal cord, CranioSacral Therapy evaluates and facilitates the healing of these restrictions.
Helping you become aware of your connection with your Central Nervous System will allow it to perform at its very best. CranioSacral Therapy can reduce pain, stress and tension whilst offering relaxation and stillness.
The types of problems people seek treatment for vary massively. CranioSacral Therapy can and has been seen to help with different problems and people seek treatment for a wide variety of issues, many including; stress and tension related disorders, headaches, migraines, musculoskeletal problems, fibromyalgia, brain fog, anxiety, sleep deprivation and fatigue. In newborns and babies issues such as colic, reflux, dificulty feeding and sleeping can be helped. For horses postural changes can be acheived, compensation patterns revealed, head shaking (in some cases) relieved, TMJ tension eased and much more.
Clients have reported feeling more awareness of what their bodies need, the feeling of complete relaxation, the feeling of restoration, healing and stillness in both a mental and physical state. They have noted less pain, more functionality and ease within daily tasks and life.
Whilst my CranioSacral Training is very much an ongoing adventure the results from this modality already speak volumes.
